PB Mailing List Commands

(majordomo type listing)

This page is intended only to be a simple web interface to the ProBoard Mailing List & ProBoard Digest! The host/owner of these lists is Dennis Murphy who maintains these lists at his location.

ProBoard Innovations just provides a simple query service using these lists at another location!

If you click the radio button below labeled "Submission copy for me", then you will receive, within a few minutes, an email copy of what has been submitted to the majordomo list server by you!
It is not necessary to check this unless you really want a copy of your submission!

After any submission, you will receive an automated response back from the majordomo system answering your query within a few minutes!

If you want the requested information sent to you, you must use your correct email address!

Any abuse of this system will result in permanent BANNING of that HOST and IP address from this Server!

Action to be taken: subscribe to a single list unsubscribe from a single list index - display files used with a list info - get more info about a list intro - get intro message who is subscribed to a list

Action to be taken: help - get help message for this system lists - get ALL list names maintained on server which - find ALL lists which you're subscribed

Posting Messages to the List

To send a message to the list, all you need to do is send an email, using your normal email program, to proboard@leguin.montclair.edu from the address that you subscribed from.

If you have not subscribed to the Mailing List and send mail to the list, it will NOT be processed nor entered into the Mailing List archive since it is a private list requiring subscribing first!

Even if you are subscribed to the digest version of the list, you still need to send your messages to proboard@leguin.montclair.edu - they will be automatically put in the Digest by the list software.

Message Archives - Listing Files

Archives of the digest version of the list are maintained by the server automatically. To receive a list of the digests that are available, send a message to majordomo@nbvb.com with the command index proboard-digest in the body of the message (or use the form directly below). majordomo will then send you a message that looks something like this:

These files, that are associated with the selected list, have formatted names starting in the sequence of v01.n001, so on and so forth!

The v01 represents Volume 1 and n001 represents number 1.

Message Archives - Retrieving Files

To retrieve a single file, send a message to majordomo@nbvb.com using your regular email program with this command in the body (or use the form directly below).

get proboard-digest v01.n001 end

If you want to retrieve multiple files, send a message to majordomo@nbvb.com using your regular email program. This page is setup for single automated transactions only for your convience!

For each file you want, place the request on a separate line, such as:

get proboard-digest v01.n001 get proboard-digest v01.n002 get proboard-digest v01.n003 end

The word end must appear on the last line of any manual request via your emailer program!
